New publication on the relationship between anticipation of free time and engagement at work by Sebastian Seibel, Judith Volmer and Antje Schmitt

In the course of two studies, now published in Leisure Sciences, Sebastian Seibel, Judith Volmer and Antje Schmitt were able to show that there is a relationship between the anticipation of pleasant activities during free time and engagement at work. This relationship however could only be demonstrated between individuals, not within individuals. Likewise, the assumed moderating roll of recovery-related self-efficacy could not be confirmed. The results show that the individuals are distinguished by the intensity of their anticipation of free time and that these differences are also partly able to explain differences in work engagement.
