The extensive climate chamber trials as part of the "DBU-Freising" project have started.
 

The application week "Restoration Science 3D Object Capture" in the Master's program in Heritage Conservation took place this year at the Johannis Cemetery in Nuremberg.

Posing together in front of the monument to King Ludwig II in Bamberg's Bürgerpark Hain as a prelude to the excursion as part of the conference and workshop "Adaptation Strategies Monuments in Climate Change" on May 25 and 26, 2023. The event was organized by ICOMOS Germany in cooperation with the KDWT of the University of Bamberg.

Excursion to the Conservation and Restoration Department of the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt. In the two-day fresco course for the seminar "Historical Working Techniques: Mural Painting" by Prof. Dr. phil. Christoph Merzenich, remarkable results were achieved by all participants.

The seminar "Historical Working Techniques: Glass" by Prof. Dr. Paul Bellendorf and Alexandra Schm?lder visited the Glass Painting Studios Peters in Paderborn in February. The participants were able to gain on-site insights into the many different tasks involved in glass restoration and try out traditional painting techniques on glass panels.

The opening speech of Dr. Kristina Holl to the International Conference on Cultural Heritage and Climate Change, which took place at the end of February in the Former Dominican Library in Bamberg with participants from 14 countries.

What role does the Hainpark play in Bamberg's urban climate? And to what extent is the natural heritage threatened by the effects of global climate change and can it be adapted to the climatic changes?

These and other questions were investigated and discussed on site by students of Prof. Dr. Bellendorf's seminar Monument and Environment together with Mr. Neuberth and Mr. Weber from the Bamberg City Council, Parks and Cemeteries and the Bürgerparkverein Bamberger Hain e.V..
