Professor Dr. Ulrich Sieberer is particularly interested in supervising doctoral students in the areas of institutional design and change in modern democracies, legislative organization and legislative behavior, executive politics, intra-party politics, and political competition in democracies.

His research focuses on institutional design and change in legislatures and executives, parliamentary voting behavior, intra-party dissent, and political opposition. Most of this research is comparative in nature and studies advanced European democracies. Professor Sieberer’s research has been published in outlets such as British Journal of Political Science, European Journal of Political Research, European Political Science Review, Journal of Legislative Studies, Legislative Studies Quarterly, Party Politics, and West European Politics.
