Academically qualified historians have a good eye for analysing individual cases and, at the same time, a sound understanding of complex interrelationships. Successfully completing studies in History opens up diverse career paths.

Typical professional fields are universities, archives, museums, library services or in publishing. The additional skills acquired through internships and/or studies abroad broaden the range of career paths.

The bachelor’s degree programme in History is designed to be compatible with teacher training programmes. It is therefore possible to easily switch between both degree programmes and obtain a bachelor’s degree in addition to completing the state examination.

At the University of Bamberg, it is also possible to complete a master’s degree in History.
